This pheromone lure targets saddle gall midge (Haplodiplosis marginata), a pest of cereal crops. It enables early detection to support more precise timing of control measures, and helps prevent stem damage that can affect yield.

How to use:

Each lure is designed for use with delta traps and provides targeted attraction from spring (mid-late April in the UK).

About the pest

Saddle gall midge (Haplodiplosis marginata), is a pest of wheat and other cereals. Larvae feed on the stems, forming distinctive saddle-shaped galls that can restrict nutrient flow and weaken the plant. Adult emergence occurs from mid to late April onwards, often aligning with early stem extension stages. Infestations can lead to reduced grain fill and lodging in severe cases. Symptoms are typically visible at the stem base or just above ground level. Early detection helps to time control measures accurately and minimise crop damage.
